Job Description

SBM Management is looking for a Site Sustainability Manager! The Site Sustainability Manager will support site non-hazardous waste management, recycling and re-use zero waste programs and implements site policy to ensure total compliance with contract duties between company and customer, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers and/or supervisors. They coordinate and direct operations necessary to carry out contractual responsibilities of the company, including any and all necessary planning, supervision, budgeting, vendor and supplier contact, customer relations and other high level managerial or supervisor responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Plans and develops work schedules to ensure adequate service delivery.
  • Works with Corporate Sustainability Manager to follow and support company initiatives
  • Support management of non- hazardous solid waste vendors including but not limited to placement, pull schedule, full containers and maximized weights and cost. –
  • Support management of current non-hazardous solid waste programs onsite including custodial waste collection
  • Identify opportunities for sustainable management of additional non-hazardous waste commodities or waste elimination practices
  • Investigates new and promotes improved equipment and methods.
  • Implements organization policies and goals.
  • Assist in the promotion of services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.
  • Supports management of centralized trash and zero waste programs at the site
  • Supports the client with education and suggestions timely and consistently while working with the SBM Sustainability Team.
  • Reviews all correspondence concerning sustainability and responds as appropriate.
  • Works with SBM Sustainability management to ensure consistency of sustainability programming across the account portfolio
  • Support and manage all tracking of information while following all deadlines. Solid waste reports are due within SBM by the 15th of every month; quarterly data may be needed prior to this deadline.
  • Supports preparation or direction of schedules for service personnel, assigns personnel to routes.
  • Inspects and evaluates physical condition of establishment for program compliance, i.e. safety, quality, and service.
  • Assist in the development of long-range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements for program/process improvements.
  • Coordinates program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documents.
  • Compiles data for preparing estimates.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and employees.
  • Conduct and attend meetings to communicate top down, and bottom up on a consistent real time basis, with customers, clients, and employees.
  • Responsible for following applicable Key Performance Indicators: Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Top Line Growth, Budgets and Employee Satisfaction
  • Responsible for Sustainable programs which include but are not limited to: Green programs within SBM (Green supplies, Green equipment, Green processes).
  • Become LEED AP and be able to participate on USGBC LEED projects.
  • Regional travel is required for this position. 

Job Requirements

  • Three plus years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, such as an A.A. Degree with 3+ years’ experience or a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.); with a minimum one year related experience and/or training – not sure what level you want here
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees, and general public.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software, presentation software and Word Processing software.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Customer service, problem solving, time management, project management, planning, excellent communication, presentation, interviewing, coaching and training skills.
  • Project/program management skills and expectations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Computer Skills.

Available Shift:  Full Time 

Compensation:  The salary for this position is $85,000  - $100,000 per year
