Job Description

SBM Management is currently seeking a seasoned, results-oriented Senior Real Estate Construction Manager to manage and oversee multi-faceted real estate development construction projects, including home building.  The ideal candidate will possess solid leadership skills, demonstrated success in assembling, coordinating and leading consultants, vendors, sub-contractors, and overseeing on site actual construction projects.  The Senior Real Estate Construction Manager is a versatile individual working within a small and dedicated team within the real estate division of a global facilities management company.  Current projects in Northern California, Colorado and Hawaii, so freedom to travel for periods of time is a pre-requisite.

  • Manage all aspects of project from inception
  • Prepare and execute Project Executive Plan
  • Oversee on-site performance of project including, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems
  • Maintain relationships with clients, designers, vendors and consultants
  • Work with in-house finance team and development partners
  • Be up to date on local, state and federal building and constructions codes
  • Communicate upwardly to top management and downward to a wide range of audiences
  • Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Demonstrating dedication to safety and quality control on all projects

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience overseeing new home building projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil / Structural Engineering or related field of study
  • knowledge is reading building plans and subdivision maps
  • general familiarity with sound construction practices
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
  • Thorough understanding of industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good math/accounting skills
  • Strong management skills
  • Functions effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to develop or maintain relationships with clients
  • Exhibits strong leadership qualities
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times

  • Travel Expectations 30-40%
