Job Description

SBM Management Services LP provides commercial real estate support services primarily to Fortune 500 companies.  We have work locations throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Singapore and Malaysia.   We are looking for a Controller-Revenue and Accounts Receivable to lead our Billing and Collections team. This team is responsible for the training and compliance of over 200 managers who perform billing activities, PO monitoring, and collections including forecasts.  This position has two direct reports which oversees two teams.   Successful candidate will be a great manager with excellent communication skills applied in a multi-state/multinational setting.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures billing training materials and programs are effective, well received and completed by all billing managers.
  • Ensures that billing KPI’s are effectively managed and communicated to the organization.  These include billing accuracy, on time billing and collection performance.
  • Ensures that billing review process and centralized invoice delivery process is efficient and effective.
  • Completes rolling collection forecasts weekly. Responsible for extensive Cash Forecasting, on a weekly basis the A/R Controller must be able to reasonably ascertain the amount and timing of all major collections. The product of which is a major component of the Credit/Cash Report (Fridays).
  • Oversees collections and handles past due escalations as needed.
  • Monitors credit risk and escalates concerns to VP Accounting or CFO as needed.
  • Trains, schedules, assigns, and reviews work of staff.
  • Perform contract review of customer agreements and use information to ensure accuracy of billings.
  • Responsible for communication of revenue, billing and collections issues to both SBM employees and customers.
  • Communicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, customers, and the public.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or a related field from a four-year college or university with minimum 3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
