Job Description

While the primary responsibility of this position is front end development, working on an agile team will require this position to be willing to be involved in all areas of the development lifecycle; analyst, designer, developer and tester as the team works together to move work to a status of done. This position will be responsible for mentoring associate software engineers on the team, helping them to develop their technical skills. This position will also collaborate closely with the Software Architect in establishing and enforcing a development framework and standards.

Roles & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

Participate in the analysis, design, development, test, modification and integration of software systems or subsystems for designated products and/or customer applications.
Application coding, unit test development
Experience building scalable, performant, fault tolerable solutions.
Experience in Scripting languages (PERL, PHP, RUBY, PYTHON, JAVASCRIPT).
Experience in RESTful API's and crafting documents in the JSON data format.
Experience in engineering front end web clients using React, Angular or Ember
Strong object oriented development practices
Maintenance of existing modules and applications.
Participating in design and code reviews.
Providing oversight of other development contributors through code review feedback and constructive criticism.
Stay technically current on the product and its evolution.
Participate in architectural design for team and Engineering.
Provide feedback regarding employee performance on development team to management.
Recommend new processes as needed to improve quality, cost, or on-time delivery
Attend regular training to increase software knowledge and to remain up to date on newest developments.
Provide documentation, knowledge base entries and FAQs to assist in continuous improvement of department resources.
Perform other tasks as necessary to support IT applications team
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills in areas listed above.
Excellent communication skills.

Education and/ or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, or a related field from a four-year college or university with 1-3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of object oriented development practices with an emphasis in the Microsoft technology stack. Knowledge of relational databases and familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus. Understanding design patterns, version control systems, N-tier application architecture and front-end native code/libraries/frameworks.
