Job Description

SBM Management is hiring an Accounts Payable Technician for our corporate office! The Accounts Payable Technician compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data and payments to accounts payable by performing the following duties:

  • Receives and delivers Accounts Payable related mail daily
  • Reviews, receives and processes invoices daily
  • Reviews, audits and corresponds approval for payment and researches of invoices daily
  • Audits invoices against purchase orders and researches discrepancies
  • Prepares accounts payable checks
  • Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for invoices
  • Researches and processes charge backs, returns, refunds, freight charges, cost of lost or damaged goods, bad/lost checks, and similar items
  • Answers accounts payable inquiries and provides proper communication
  • Assists with related special projects, as required
  • Prepares analysis of summary accounts
  • Monitors vendor accounts to ensure payments are applied accurately and timely
  • Assist in (accrual based) monthly and annual closings
  • Cross train and multitask to support current need of department
  • Excellent customer service skills

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus
  • Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Full cycle Accounts Payable processing experience a plus, but not required

Available Shift:  Monday - Friday, opportunity for overtime
