Overview
SBM Management is looking for a Stocker! A Stocker receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
- Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
- Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
- Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
- Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.
- Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.
- Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
- Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
- Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
- Makes adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.
- Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
- Cuts stock to size to fill order.
- Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments.
- Maintains inventory and other stock records.
- Clean and organize all stock locations as directed.
- Maintains MSDS requirements per company and client guidelines.
- Verifies equipment is in working order, meets safety requirements, and helps facilitate repairs/replacement as needed.
- Comply with safety and environmental rules, policies and procedures. Stop at risk behavior of other and self.
- Appearance – Wear the SBM standard uniform, and have good hygiene.
- Attitude – Having a positive, friendly approachable demeanor. Be respectful and make eye contact.
- Responsiveness – Responding positively to requests in a timely manner. Take initiative and pride in your work.
- Equipment & Closets – Maintaining your equipment and closest with organization and care.
Qualifications
Ability to Read 2-3 syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
Ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences.
Know how to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
Know the American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance and measures such as, cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc.
Recognize and understand safety signs and building warning systems. Understand safety requirements, understand & meet company handbook expectations
Required to have a valid driver’s license, if driving own vehicle on business time or company vehicle. Will also be required to have proof of vehicle registration and insurance.
Available Shift: Day
Compensation: $14.00 per hour
