Job Description

Overview

The Quality Director is responsible for ensuring that the overall standards of the company are met or exceeded within every area of the workplace. Effectively assuring compliance of customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Initiates and implements quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma) to raise the performance of the company’s product lines.
  • Performs root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures; collaborating with other members of management to develop new manufacturing and training methods.
  • Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Evaluate current company processes and develops a plan to eliminate holes in existing system or overhaul and implement new processes where feasible.
  • Partner with existing management to develop training plans, update SOPs and create a culture of continuous improvement related to quality.
  • Maintain records related to quality assurance standards and certifications.
  • Develop and disseminate routine weekly and daily status reports to management as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Position may supervise QA professionals.  Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six Sigma black-belt certification, with a proven track record of business performance improvement (preferred, not required)
  • Ability to effectively handle pressures and demands of deadlines and competing priorities
  • Ability to manage multiple business priorities and projects effectively 
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft office suite

Available Shift:  Full Time
