Job Description

SBM Management is currently looking to hire a QA and Automation Engineer to join their team!  The Engineer role is responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective. They will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

  • Designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions.
  • Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics.
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; 2 to 4 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industry certifications strongly preferred. Previous experience in managing projects within software programming environment preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a detailed knowledge of Database programming languages.
  • Experience with integrating data from multiple systems into single application or platform strongly preferred.
  • Problem solving, time management, project management, planning, excellent communication, and presentation.
  • Disciplined in source control and application versioning and must understand branching and merging methodologies. 
  • Must have excellent learning abilities and have the ability to use various resources to research issues. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to work with users to provide programming solutions to complex business problems
  • Experience in seeking out emerging technologies and determining realistic opportunity of their use in our development environment. 
  • Experience in the use of open source technologies and the licensing requirements associated with open source. 
  • Collaborating with other senior team members to ensure integrated programming.
