Job Description

SBM is looking for an experienced Compensation Analyst to work closely with the Director of Compensation on the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures. This role will be responsible for partnering with business leaders, managers and the HR organization to deliver compensation methodology and programs. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Compensation Strategy, Philosophy and Policy: perform program management and analyst responsibilities to support the delivery of SBM’s compensation strategy and programs; ensure compensation rates are in accordance with SBM’s compensation philosophy
  • Job Descriptions: maintain, review, evaluate, revise and approval of new and current job descriptions; maintain accurate, updated master file of all job descriptions
  • Market Pricing/Analysis/Reporting: perform market analysis of internal positions to external market data utilizing PayScale tool to determine competitive position and develop salary ranges; obtain and participate in market data surveys and conduct benchmarking exercises; track compensation benchmarking data; maintain current information concerning applicable salary movement in comparable organizations; participate in market data surveys and conduct benchmarking exercises; track compensation benchmarking data; design manager dashboard reports for compensation management; prepare ad-hoc compensation related reports and analytics for management.
  • Job Evaluation, Classification and Structure: conduct initial evaluations of new job titles and assign jobs to pay grades; implement and maintain company-wide pay grades and structure and ensure that the company's pay scale complies with changing state and federal laws and regulations; implement and maintain company-wide pay grades and structure and ensure that the company's pay scale complies with changing state and federal laws and regulations; ensure EEO/FLSA compliance; ensure integrity of job evaluation process; reevaluate job descriptions for organizational leveling and FLSA classification
  • Strategic Partnership: provide the Talent Acquisition team with market data for new positions; work with managers and HR Operations on compensation-related issues. Pro-actively perform salary research and ensure wages are in line with market analysis focusing on key/hard to fill/high turnover positions
  • Program delivery: Participate in the development, implementation and communication of base pay and incentive/bonus programs, including mid-year and annual merit, quarterly bonus; partner with HR on delivery of Performance Management objectives; utilize UltiPro for compensation events
  • Business Partnering: Build partnerships within HR, Finance and Business leaders, develop and administer Performance Management program. Develop and update Performance Appraisal instruments.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in a related field, such as economics, accounting, or human resources
  • 3+ years of progressive related experience in broad-based compensation analysis, design and program management. Experience designing and implementing Compensation Programs experience required.
  • UltiPro HCM and Compensation Module experience preferred
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel (pivot tables, macros, advanced formulas) and other analytical tools
  • Compensation program management is a plus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent business acumen, strong strategic planning, financial, numerical, analytical, and compensation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-starter with excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
