Overview
SBM Management is looking to hire a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join their team! This position manages and directs the organization toward its primary technological objectives, based on long-term product and profitability goals, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
Responsibilities
- Establishes current and long range objectives, plans, and policies, subject to approval by Board of Directors.
- Creates a technical vision for the company and plans for implementation of new technical projects or product lines.
- Dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and Board approval.
- Works with product development, sales, and marketing to discern competitiveness of new technologies.
- Reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
- Creates technical budgets, allocates resources, and determines schedule of product releases or project deadlines.
- Plans and directs all investigations and negotiations pertaining to technical aspects of mergers, joint ventures, acquisition of businesses, or sales of major assets, with approval of Board of Directors.
- Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
- Analyzes new technologies and runs competitive analyses.
- Represents organization with major customers, shareholders, and the public.
- Some travel will be required for this position.
- Manages three subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 4+ employees in the IT.
- Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises one non-supervisory employee.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Manages department budget. Understands cost drivers for human capital and creative solutions to manage productivity.
Qualifications
- Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Contact Management systems; Design software; Human Resource systems; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
